We are all characters in our own story. The role we play is of our own choosing and we are responsible for how it all unfolds. More importantly, we are all responsible for its setting, Earth, and are tasked with its safekeeping. It is useful to see what others are doing in their district. We invite you to be contributors to this.

 

There is a wealth of support being created within districts.  It is useful to see what others are doing in their District. We invite you to be contributors to share stories of how you are supporting teachers and Aboriginal learners. A Shared Responsibility: 

Districts are developing supports for Aboriginal Education within the renewed BC Curriculum 
Many districts and schools within BC continue to develop resources to meet their internal needs to support teachers and Aboriginal students. As BC is diverse and each district may represent several First Nations and have students from other First Peoples groups, we have identified several that have shared their work publicly. 

FNESC Authentic Resourcesabed-story

The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) and First Nations Schools Association (FNSA) have developed the Authentic First Peoples Resources (K-9) guide. The guide identifies currently available authentic First Peoples texts for use by students and teachers.   FNESC has its own evaluation process and criteria.  ERAC has evaluated many, but not all, of the resources listed in the guide. Please check ERAC’s collection at bcerac.ca to see which of the resources have been ERAC evaluated and approved.  And, if you would like a resource to be evaluated, please submit the request here
